Seller Agreement
Last updated 1 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-01
This agreement is between you and Blue River Events Ltd, trading as CardSouk (“CardSouk”) and applies when you open a shop and sell on CardSouk. It sits alongside the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. By opening a shop you agree to it.
1. Who can sell
- You must be 18 or over, live in the United Kingdom and have a UK bank account.
- You must tell us truthfully whether you sell as a private individual or as a business. If you sell cards regularly, for profit, or as part of a trade, you are likely to be a business under consumer law and must choose that option.
- Your shop name and the details you give us must be accurate. You may only have one shop.
2. Your listings
- You must own each card you list, or have the right to sell it, and it must be genuine.
- Descriptions, conditions and grades must be accurate. Photos must be of the actual card, and you must provide the required photos for each listing, including the front, back and corners.
- Graded cards must be in a genuine, unaltered slab with the grade correctly stated.
- Counterfeit, reprinted, stolen or illegal items are banned. We may remove any listing and report suspected counterfeits.
- You are responsible for the prices you set and for keeping your stock levels accurate.
3. Fees
We charge a commission on the card price of each item you sell, worked out card by card. Postage carries no commission. At launch the rates are:
- Cards priced at £0.99 or less: 0% commission.
- Cards priced from £1.00: 5% on the first £1,000 of the card price, and 4% on any part above £1,000.
- The buyer pays a separate Buyer Protection & Processing fee at checkout. You are not charged it.
4. Changing our fees
We may change our fees. We will give you at least 30 days' notice, and the rate that applied when an order was placed stays with that order.
Payment processing costs are covered by the Buyer Protection & Processing fee. If we ever change how those costs are shared, we will tell you in the same way.
5. Orders, postage and dispatch
- You set your own postage options and prices. If an order includes items with different postage options, the buyer pays the highest postage price once.
- Dispatch each order promptly and within the dispatch time you have set. Pack cards safely.
- Add a tracking number whenever you have one. Cards worth £250 or more must be sent tracked, and for cards worth £1,000 or more we may require additional steps such as signed-for delivery.
- Keep proof of postage. If a parcel is lost or damaged you are responsible for resolving it, unless we decide otherwise under the problem process below.
- You may only use a buyer's name and address to fulfil their order. You must not keep it for any other purpose or share it.
6. Payments and payouts
Payments are handled by Stripe. To be paid you must complete Stripe's onboarding, which includes identity checks, and you agree to Stripe's own terms. You can list cards before this is done, but we hold your earnings until it is complete.
We hold a sale's earnings and release them to your Stripe account when the order is eligible. For most sellers that is when the buyer confirms receipt, or 5 days after dispatch, whichever comes first. Sellers we have designated as trusted may be paid when the order is dispatched.
We will not release the payout for an order while a problem is open on it. We may also delay or hold payments where we reasonably suspect fraud, a rule breach, or where it is needed to meet legal obligations, and we will tell you why where we can.
Payments are in pounds sterling. Stripe pays money out to your bank on your payout schedule, and Stripe may charge for its own services in line with its terms.
7. Problems, refunds and chargebacks
Buyers can report a problem with an order for up to 60 days after dispatch. You should respond promptly and try to resolve it. If you and the buyer can't agree, we will review the conversation and any evidence and decide what should happen. Our decision is final as between you and the buyer on the order, but it does not affect any rights either of you has in law.
If a refund is due because of something you did or failed to do, such as a card that was not as described, not sent, or counterfeit, you bear the cost, including any postage. We may take that amount from the funds we hold for you, or from your future earnings, or ask you to pay it.
Where a buyer's card payment is reversed through a chargeback, we may recover the amount and any related fees from you in the same way, unless we decide the loss was caused by us.
If you are a business seller you must also meet your own legal obligations to consumers, including accepting returns where the law requires it.
8. Tax
You are responsible for your own tax on what you earn from CardSouk, including income tax and, if applicable, VAT. We do not give tax advice.
Under UK rules for digital platforms, we may need to collect information about sellers and report details of their sales and earnings to HMRC. You agree to give us the information we reasonably ask for, which may include your name, address, date of birth, tax reference and, for businesses, company and VAT numbers.
9. Checks, limits and suspension
We may ask you to verify your identity or your cards, and we may set limits on listings, order values or payouts while a shop is new or if we see unusual activity. Major actions such as closing a shop are reviewed by a person and not decided by automated tools alone.
We may suspend or close your shop if you break this agreement or the Terms of Use, are involved in fraud or counterfeits, or if we must by law. If we close your shop we will still pay you what you are properly owed for completed orders, less any amounts due to us or to buyers.
You can close your shop at any time once your open orders and payments are settled.
10. Our responsibility and yours
Nothing in this agreement limits liability that can't be limited by law. Subject to that, neither of us is liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, and our total liability to you in connection with this agreement is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
You must cover us for losses and legal costs we incur because of a claim made against us arising from your breach of this agreement, including selling counterfeit or stolen items.
11. Changes and the law
We may update this agreement. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of material changes, and if you don't accept them you can close your shop. This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Questions can be sent to hello@cardsouk.uk.
