Terms of Use
Last updated 1 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-01
These terms apply when you use CardSouk, a marketplace where collectors buy and sell trading cards and sports cards. Please read them. By creating an account or placing an order you agree to them.
1. Who we are
CardSouk is a trading name of Blue River Events Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17145323) with its registered office at 24 Akeman Close, Morecambe, LA3 3BP. You can contact us at hello@cardsouk.uk.
CardSouk is a marketplace. We provide the website and the tools that let sellers list cards and buyers purchase them. When you buy a card, your contract for the sale is with the seller, not with us.
2. Using CardSouk
- You must be 18 or over and live in the United Kingdom to create an account or buy or sell on CardSouk.
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. Keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You can browse without an account. You need one to buy, sell or save a want list.
3. Buying on CardSouk
When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy from each seller in your basket. The sale is made when the seller dispatches your order. Each seller posts their own part of your order, so one basket from several sellers arrives as separate parcels.
Prices and postage are set by sellers. Where you buy several items from the same seller, you pay one postage charge for that seller, at the highest postage rate among the items you bought from them. We add a Buyer Protection & Processing fee to each checkout, shown before you pay.
Payments are taken by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
4. Private sellers and business sellers
Every seller is marked as either a private seller or a business seller. This matters for your legal rights.
If you buy from a business seller, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 apply. Goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, and you generally have 14 days from receiving your goods to cancel.
If you buy from a private seller, the legal protections are more limited. The item must still be correctly described, but the right to cancel within 14 days does not apply. Our problem process below applies to every order whichever type of seller it is.
5. If something goes wrong
You can report a problem with an order from the order page once it has been dispatched, and for up to 60 days afterwards. Reporting a problem tells the seller straight away and holds the seller's payout for that order while it is open.
We expect buyer and seller to try to sort the problem out between them. If you can't agree, either of you can ask us to review it. We will consider what both sides have said and any evidence provided, and we will decide what should happen, which may include requiring a refund. Our decision does not affect any legal rights you have.
Where a refund is due because of the seller's fault, the cost falls on the seller. Where the problem is caused by us, the cost falls on us.
6. What you must not do
If you break these rules we may remove listings, hold payments, suspend or close your account, and where the law requires it report the matter to the authorities.
- List, sell or buy counterfeit, stolen or illegal items, or items you don't have the right to sell.
- Describe a card inaccurately, or use photos that are not of the actual card being sold.
- Manipulate prices, reviews or ratings, or create accounts to avoid a suspension.
- Use CardSouk to avoid our fees, harass others, or interfere with the site or its security.
7. Reviews and content you post
Reviews and descriptions must be honest and about the transaction. You keep ownership of what you post, but you give us a free, non-exclusive licence to display it on CardSouk and to use it to run and promote the service. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
8. Our responsibility to you
We provide CardSouk with reasonable care and skill, but we can't promise it will always be available or error free.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit, and it does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for business losses, or for what a seller does or fails to do, other than as set out in our problem process above.
9. Closing your account
You can close your account at any time once your open orders and payments are settled. We can suspend or close an account for breaking these terms, for legal reasons, or to protect other users. Where we can, we will tell you why.
10. Changes
We may change these terms, for example as CardSouk grows or the law changes. We will tell you about material changes before they take effect. If you keep using CardSouk after that, you accept the new terms. Orders already placed stay on the terms that applied when you placed them.
11. Complaints and the law
If you are unhappy with us, email hello@cardsouk.uk and we will reply as quickly as we can.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in your local courts. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
